Twenty-second session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 22) and the twelfth session of the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (CMP 12) to be held in Marrakech, Morocco.
The Adaptation Fund will be active again this year at COP22, with plans to host a side event on family and sustainable agriculture, a new multimedia exhibit featuring projects in action, and a contributor dialogue, among other activities. The Fund’s pioneering Direct Access modality, which gives developing countries the opportunity to receive climate finance and develop projects directly while building their own adaptive capacities, will also be featured. The forty-sixth sessions of the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI 46) and the third part of the first session of the Ad Hoc Working Group on the Paris Agreement (APA 1-3) will take place from 8 to 18 May 2017, in Bonn, Germany.

In its concrete projects helping the most vulnerable communities in developing countries adapt and build resilience to climate change, the Adaptation Fund ensures they are of high quality and effective through innovative policies that adapt to country needs and promote human rights, gender equality, marginalized groups, biodiversity conservation, natural habitats, pollution prevention and resource efficiency. Partners under its pioneering Direct Access modality will discuss these aspects of its projects.
Speakers: Representatives from National Implementing Entities, civil society, countries and the Adaptation Fund.
