Climate Adaptation in the Pacific: Building Urban Resilience in Fiji & Solomon Islands

Share

Across the Pacific, communities are experiencing the impacts of climate change firsthand, particularly in vulnerable urban areas and informal settlements.

In Fiji and Solomon Islands, Adaptation Fund-financed projects are strengthening urban climate resilience on the ground. Implemented by UN-Habitat in partnership with the national governments of Fiji and Solomon Islands, these initiatives support locally led solutions tailored to climate and disaster risks.

Indigenous knowledge, community priorities, and lived experience are guiding long-term adaptation solutions—from securing water and food supplies to reinforcing infrastructure and disaster preparedness—building lasting resilience for Pacific communities.
