Adaptation Fund in Cambodia

A project funded by the Adaptation Fund in Cambodia is helping vulnerable forest communities adapt to extreme rainfall variability worsened by climate change in recent years. Implemented by the UN Environment Programme and Cambodian government, the project is restoring degraded forests, planting multi-use species and drought-tolerant rice, while creating vegetable gardens, water harvesting tube wells and climate information centers. It is a great example of the Adaptation Fund innovating concrete localized actions on the ground, while creating valuable experiences that can be shared with others and potentially replicated or scaled up in other vulnerable areas facing similar issues.
