Adaptation Fund Country Exchange in Chile: Water Management and Agriculture

The Adaptation Fund held its first Country Exchange, partnering with its Direct Access national implementing entity (NIE) in Chile, AGCID, to invite 12 of its accredited NIEs from around the world to see its project in Chile in action which is empowering smallholder farmers to adapt to droughts in innovative ways. NIEs learned from the project and exchanged lessons from their own projects, which they can apply to enhance adaptation actions on the ground across the globe. The Fund’s NIEs from Antigua & Barbuda, Armenia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, and Federated States of Micronesia took part in the Learning and Sharing five-day visit to Chile, which included workshops and two days of project visits to rural farming communities in the vulnerable central O’Higgins Region of the country. The project is funded by the Adaptation Fund and implemented by AGCID.
