The Adaptation Fund Board landmark decision to start a dialogue with civil society, which was taken during its 12th Board meeting last December in Cancun, initiated an exchange of information and ideas. The Board remains committed to continuing and furthering this discourse. Responding to requests from civil society to expand on this dialogue, the Board would like to take the opportunity of the UNFCCC COP17 back to back with the 16th Adaptation Fund Board meeting to hold a dedicated session for civil society.  This will allow the Board more time to engage with civil society directly and would also provide the Board with inputs before starting deliberations.
