Ex post 2023: Increasing Climate Resilience and Enhancing Sustainable Land Management in the Southwest of the Buenos Aires Province
In the southwest of Buenos Aires Province, Argentina, rural communities and productive landscapes are increasingly affected by climate change impacts, including prolonged droughts, land degradation, and variable rainfall that threaten agricultural productivity and livelihoods. This ex post evaluation assesses how project outcomes have evolved several years after completion, with a focus on whether sustainable land management practices and resilience-building measures have delivered lasting adaptation benefits over time.
This $USD 4.0 million Adaptation Fund-supported project focused on strengthening climate resilience by promoting sustainable land management, improving soil and water conservation practices, and enhancing the adaptive capacity of local institutions and producers. The project was implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in partnership with the Government of Argentina, with national execution led by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries.
