Patience Thelma Melfah Damptey is an environmental scientist and a gender policy analyst. She has been working on environmental issues especially on climate change issues since 1995. She has worked with the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission and the Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology. She was a member of the team that prepared Ghana’s Initial national Communication and also undertook the vulnerability assessment of climate change on women’s livelihoods for the preparation of the Second National Communication to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
She was also a member of the team that prepared the National Climate Change Adaptation Strategy. For the past three years, she has also been training and sensitising various stakeholders (civil society groups, women, men and media personnel) on gender and climate change.
Mrs. Damptey also undertakes research and consulting work in environment management, environmental impact assessment and gender issues.
