An innovative project funded by the Adaptation Fund is helping Morocco build resilience to drought by enhancing their capacity to manage water sustainably. Located in one of the driest regions of the world, Morocco is increasingly vulnerable to climate change. It’s only fitting that it will host the COP22 Climate Conference in Marrakech this November, which will raise attention to these issues and other countries around the world that increasingly find themselves in similar situations. The Adaptation Fund is helping vulnerable communities in developing countries like Morocco’s oasis zone adapt to climate change with concrete, localized projects. It’s important that the momentum gained for climate action at COP21 in Paris is continued into COP22.
