On 13 November 2019, the the Ministry of Environment of Rwanda (MoE) received a grant to develop a scale-up proposal for the project titled: “Reducing Vulnerability to Climate Change in North West Rwanda through Community Based Adaptation”
The ultimate goal for scaling up the project’s achievement is to enhance capacities of local communities to access climate finance to scale up climate change adaptation technologies that were tested during the Project “Reducing Vulnerability to Climate Change in North West Rwanda through Community Based Adaptation: RV3CBA”.
The scaling up will focus on the RV3CBA project components which are: (i) Adaptation to climate change (rainfall intensity and duration) through integrated land and water management to support climate-resilient production and post-harvest systems, (ii) Support for the transition from exploitive farming practices to sustainable diversified livelihoods, (iii) Capacity building of local institutions to improve understanding of climate change impacts and scale up effective adaptation strategies at the local level.
