On 26 December 2018, the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan received peer support for accreditation of a National Implementing Entity to the Adaptation Fund from the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) of India.
The support included the following components:
- Identifying potential NIE candidates
- Short-listing potential NIE candidates
- Supporting identified NIE through training and capacity building for preparation and submission of accreditation application
- Advising and hand holding the potential NIE during the application process and revision based on feedback from the Fund
