The Ministry of Natural Resources of Rwanda (MINIRENA) now Minister of Environment (MoE) of Rwanda technical assistance grant for the Environmental and Social Policy and Gender Policy (TA-ESGP) seeks to enhance the capacity of the MoE to assess and manage environmental, social and gender related issues and its compliance with the Adaptation Fund’s Environmental and Social Policy and Gender Policy.

Specific activities by the MoE for the readiness grant include:

  1. Workshops to a) review existing policies and laws that are supporting the implementation of the  Environment and Social Policy and Gender Policy; b) establish a SWOT analysis of the current situation in relation to the implementation of the Environment and Social Policy and Gender Policy.
  2. Draw and validate the Logical Framework for monitoring the compliance with he Environment and Social Policy and Gender Policy.
  3. Update the current grievance mechanism. Develop an online grievance mechanism that may address the concerns related to the Environment and Social Policy and Gender Policy.
  4. Training for selected staff to carry out the relevant tasks related to the implementation of the Fund’s Environmental and Social Policy and the Gender Policy.
