Ex post 2023: Enhancing the Adaptive Capacity and Increasing Resilience of Small-size Agriculture Producers of the Northeast of Argentina

In northeastern Argentina, small-scale agricultural producers are increasingly exposed to climate change impacts, including rising temperatures, shifting rainfall patterns, and more frequent floods and droughts that threaten rural livelihoods. This ex post evaluation assesses how project outcomes have evolved several years after completion, with a focus on whether investments in climate-resilient agriculture and institutional capacity have delivered sustained adaptation benefits over time.

This $USD 5.6 million Adaptation Fund-supported project focused on strengthening the adaptive capacity of smallholder farmers by promoting climate-resilient production practices, improving water and land management, and enhancing institutional support systems. The project was implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in partnership with the Government of Argentina, with national execution led by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries.
